Our Mission

Our mission is to provide an environment which enables our students to acquire and apply the knowledge necessary to become respectful, responsible, self-directed learners.

Our Mission and Philosophy

Port Allegany School District administrators are proud to carry on the traditions and philosophies established decades ago, yet which continue to hold relevant in today’s society. We believe we are here to serve the community, and that our community should, in turn, be willing to help as we implement our philosophy and objectives.

Our Philosophy

We believe that the school is an institution which should strive to equip each student with the necessary skills to realize his/her potential as a rational and affective being; one which should help to prepare each student to understand the complex and changing nature of his/her world, to meet the practical challenges of life, and to understand that a richness and breadth of life exist beyond the practical.

We invite you to read the full text of our philosophy. It is our hope that you will catch our vision and join us in our endeavors to fully prepare our students for the future, today.

The Port Allegany School District buildings will be closed beginning Thursday, April 9 through Tuesday, April 14 for the Easter holiday.

High School students should continue their planned instruction lessons and elementary students should continue their enrichment activities on Wednesday, April 15.

In the meantime, stay engaged with your education, maintain your social distancing, and be sure to do your part as we work through this closure period.  Our buildings will again be opened to our students and the public once it is safe to do so.

On behalf of everyone with the Port Allegany School District, we wish you a safe and Happy Easter.
