Community Bulletin Board

Surrounded by lush, green hills and trees, you’ll find the borough of Port Allegany in a beautiful valley not far from the headwaters of the Allegheny River. Situated along the New York border in rural McKean County, this picturesque landscape shares a rich history and tight-knit community, making this an ideal place to call “home.”

Walk Our Hallways – For the Health of It!
The Port Allegany School District welcomes community members who wish to walk in the high school hallways for exercise. We request that community members who prefer to walk on the track enter through the gates by the high school gymnasium.

Designated walking hours:
6:00-7:00 a.m.
4:30-7:30 p.m.

Senior Activity Pass
We invite any district resident at least 65 years and wiser to register for our Senior Activity Pass. Stop by our office to register and pick up your activity pass. You’ll be glad you did; it’s good to get involved in extracurricular activities!

The Port Allegany School District buildings will be closed beginning Thursday, April 9 through Tuesday, April 14 for the Easter holiday.

High School students should continue their planned instruction lessons and elementary students should continue their enrichment activities on Wednesday, April 15.

In the meantime, stay engaged with your education, maintain your social distancing, and be sure to do your part as we work through this closure period.  Our buildings will again be opened to our students and the public once it is safe to do so.

On behalf of everyone with the Port Allegany School District, we wish you a safe and Happy Easter.
