We understand correlation between providing a healthy foundation to properly nourish our students and successful learning; we are committed to helping provide that for our students. Please feel free to contact our food services manager with questions.
Community Eligibility Program
We are pleased to inform you the Port Allegany School District will be participating in the community eligibility program (CEP) in both the elementary and high school buildings. All enrolled students are eligible for a free breakfast and a free lunch at school. No further action is required on your part. No application is needed for students to participate in the this program.
The CEP program does not apply to a-la-carte items. This means students must pay for a second lunch, an extra entrée, or any snack items.

Healthier Hunger Free Kids Act
The Healthier Hunger Free Act of 2010 introduced new nutritional guidelines as follows:
- Different meal patterns for age/grade levels based on portion sizes and nutritional guidelines
- Vegetable selections categorized according to nutrition and age/grade levels
- Milk fat content cannot exceed 1% for white milk. All flavored milks must be fat free.
- Whole grains must comprise at least 51% of all grains offered.
- Fruits offered increase in portion size based on age/grade levels.
- Participation in the reimbursable lunch program requires students to take either a fruit or a vegetable.
Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) Program Information
All sponsors must inform families about the availability and location of free meals for students via the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Sponsors are required conduct SFSP outreach before the end of the academic school year to ensure that eligible families are informed of the availability and location of SFSP meals. This is required even if the sponsor is not participating in the SFSP.
Schools may fulfill this requirement through postings on the school's website, Robo calls, flyers or other methods that notify the community of locations of summer meal sites.
