Registration and Immunizations

Whether you are new to our beautiful community or have an upcoming kindergarten student eager to start school, we welcome you! We understand that entering a new school can be an exciting and hectic time. To help you out, we’ve put all the information you need right here to register your child quickly and get you on your way.

Registration

To register your child at a Port Allegany school, you will need to provide the following documentation, in person, at our office.

  • Registration forms (located on this page)
  • Child’s original birth certificate or a certified copy
  • Immunization records
  • Proof of residency—include two forms of documentation such as a deed/lease; utility, credit card, or property tax bill; driver’s license, or vehicle registration.

Kindergarten Registration
Children who turn five years on or before September 1 of the entering school year are eligible to enroll in our all-day kindergarten program.

Migrant/Homeless Student Registration
We will directly enroll all migrant/homeless students into our district even if parents/guardians are unable to produce the required documentation. The district will work with such students to track down personal records. We will not inquire about immigration status as part of the enrollment process.

Immunizations

The state of Pennsylvania requires by law that all students be immunized, unless specifically exempt for religious or medical reasons. The Port Allegany School District adheres to this law in an effort to safe guard the school community from the spread of certain diseases. We will not admit students to school without proper immunization records, and we may remove students exempt from immunizations from school during an outbreak.
